I would do a little research first and see if AT&T is going to get a good Android phone. As good as the iPhone was the Android platform is coming with a full head of steam and will probably be the dominant platform of the future. For example in Android 2.1 they have animated backgrounds, which is pretty freaking amazing. With the iPhone you have to go through jailbreaking it to get some features that are standard business for Android phones. The iPhone is a nice phone, but it basically is a Application cabinet. A phone that runs Android is just far more powerful at this point in time. If you can, switch networks and get a Droid on Verizon, if not do some serious research and see if you can get a phone with Android. If either of those don't work out get an iPhone, but maybe try and get an older one for cheap online and save your contract for a newer phone that comes out this year.
