My new wineador arrived today, and I had a couple of quick questions. I know that it has probably been discussed here before, but let's be honest. Us males like instant gratification with our new toys, and the search feature can be a real PITA when using tapacrap. So here are my questions:
1. Do I need to do anything specific to prevent humidity from escaping (ie, plug the drain hole). If I do, can someone enlighten me please?
2. Where can I buy the carbon to assist in the plastic odor elimination (I've already wiped it down with warm water and mild detergent, have the door open, will fill with newspaper to assist in odor removal, then plug in with baking soda and carbon)?
3. This unit did not come with shelves/drawers like my CC300, but I do plan on using a few of the shelves from that unit in my new one. Does Spanish cedar absorb odors (ie, plastic smell)? I don't want to put the shelves in until the smell is completely gone if this will be the case.
4. Lastly, and most importantly, I have an inbound order that I'm concerned about. I've read on here that cigars can take on the plastic odor/taste if the odor is not fully gone prior to using the wineador for its intended use (humidor). If this is the case, would you store cigars that are in completely sealed boxes in the humidor while the odor is being removed, or find another means to temporarily store them while removing the odor and properly seasoning the wineador? I'm concerned about temperature control as my desktops average about 74-76*, and is way to high for my comfort.
I apologize for the dumb questions that I'm sure have been discussed here multiple times over, but I would appreciate some honest feedback. Thank you in advance brothers and sisters.
