So as i left work a little later than normal on Thursday night I work 2 jobs so I only have about an hour and a half time span between the 2. So as im driving down the highway and ill admit i was going a little over the limit to try to make up some time then all of a sudden i see a flash of brown and hear this giant BANG! my car turns sideways i fight to correct it and succeed. First thing going through my mind is i blew a tire but then i start to think back of the brown flash. low and behold i creamed a deer and not a small deer either this thing seriously took me out. Luckily i was not hurt however i cant say the same for the car its pretty banged up! In the end the deer is nowhere to be found I just end up with some leftover meat in the grille and blood stains / trail into the woods. Kinda bummed i wasnt able to find him and keep the trophy that ruined my night. i also never made to work that night either, but I guess in the end all that matters is im ok and the car will be fixed! Got the estimate yesterday afternoon $5000 damage that sucker did but it should be fixed in a week or so. Pics are below

Wow. Thank goodness you are ok. Cars can be repaired/replaced. Good thing you or nobody else was hurt or worse!

Of small consolation but, in Canada, we had to worry about dumb-ass moose doing the same thing.

The main difference is that a moose is just as likely to walk away uninjured.

I HATE deer. Hate them.
I love deer they are delicious.

Glad to hear you're ok man. That's a really shitty situation. Hope the repairs don't cost too much.
Me too, a little onion, butter marinated over night... And slapped on the grill, MMMM.
Sorry about the car, that venison dinner really wrecked it up.. The deer is probably about a couple hundreds yards in the woods already tenderized.

Lol ya it's tenderized alright! The trooper was gonna let me go for it but I decided against since it was dark and I didn't know the area. It's coyote food now prob just a carcass right now.

Thanks man I've never had deer before so I was kinda bummed it got away. Repairs came to $5000 but luckily I have 0 deductible so insurance is paying 100% 👍

here if you hit a deer the game warden will let you have the deer if you buy a tag for it.so $25 for a freezer full of delicious venison is worth the price of the tag

Just as an FYI, eating something hit by a car is not sanitary nor healthy for thousands of reasons. And stop adding onions to everything.

I've done it countless times. Never had an issue, you just have to be smart. Want to talk sanitary or healthy? Let's talk about the numerous times meat has been sold only to have a million pounds of meat recalled.....

Well I usually try to eat healthy and avoid beef manufacturers that tend to have problems or poor evaluations or just not enough of them. Still eating something that got hit by a car still isn't sanitary. Here's hoping nothing bad ever happens from this one for you. I'm not that brave.

As for the onions, it seems like everyone wants to always add onions to everything rather than actually care for the meat.
