again, my opinion, but for the money, there is alot of great whiskey out there that is cheaper - much cheaper. Pappy is great if you can get it at normal MSRP, but I would never spend the big bucks for it in secondary
Well said. For $380 I'd probably grab 4-5 other bottles unless you just really want something that says van winkle.

$125 for the 10 year? That's probably in line with 23 year pricing!

This particular B & M is know for over charging. Fish pay for their over pricing. JMHO

Jetline Triple Torch lighter MSPR $11.99 they get $20.00.

Boveda Pack $3.99 MSRP they get $5.00

So let's say they are not bashful over charging.

I had a shot of the Pappy's 10 in a New York bar a few months ago for $20/pour and the 15 year for $25. The owner comped me a shot of the Wellers just so I could taste the difference. My favorite was the 10 year, and for folks who say the Wellers is the same, it was good but not even close to the Pappys. We have a liquor store near me selling a bottle of the 10 year for $450. At $20 a shot, I could drink a bottle's worth for $333. One of the best I've tasted, but not at those prices.

if you have access to weller, grab a bottle of w12 and a bottle of w107. mix 40/60 w12/107. its super good. they say its "poor man's pappy" but it actually is poor mans orvw. i can't get it by me, so i pay secondary price for the wellers, then mix. i'm a drinker so i get a slight discount from good bourbon brothers. fwiw, secondary for latest van winkle releases are (orvw 400/ lot b 450/ 15 1000/ 20 and 23 = stupid price., rye i see for 1300, again all stupid.)

You’re lucky! I haven’t seen Weller at all in the wild here in NY except at the speakeasy bar I go to every so often.
