Did a search - seems as though there hasn't been any talk of these in at least two years lol.

I had my first today:

Anyway - my experience with it left me a bit confused. These are Oliva's "Flagship Cigar." They retail at $10.00 and over. Now I am no Oliva whore, but I really like the "V" so I expected some awesomeness to greet me :).

But somehow this stick just seemed a little lacking. It was leathery, even bordering on harsh at times to me. Strong too. I kept thinking this is going to blossom into something great - but it never really did.

Now I have only had the stick in my humi for about a month. I have quite a few more (cigar auctioneer sells em cheap) - but I think these really need a substantial sleep.

What's your take on these sticks?

I really liked em when I started smoking. But my tastes have changed and now, not as much. Still a good cigar that can be found for a decent price.

More of a V and V Maduro fan myself.
Hey KK - tanks for your take. You ever rest any? Worth the effort?

These can be found on discount sites for prices that cost a fraction of MSRP pricing. I had a fiver when I started smoking and the first one I ever had was extremely good and had this caramely taste that I have never encountered before. It was sublime. However that was the only one that tasted that way and I was relatively let down by the rest. I kept thinking if I just let them sit a bit more they might come around, but I smoked the fiver over the course of a year and while they improved they never blew me away and I didnt need to buy another fiver. Ever. I find the V, V Maduro, and V Melanio to all be superior blends.

I also find that I like the Serie V line more than the Masters Blend. Not to say the MB3 is a bad smoke, its just a completely different profile any other Oliva that I have smoked. I got 8 or 9 left in my humi that I will try when summer hits.

I was never a big Oliva fan but have found solace in the Oliva V's and when the Master Blend came out I liked them...but not enough to buy a box. The MB isn't a cigar that really responds to "resting" as they smoke the same from 2 weeks to 3 months...after that they tend to lose their balance overall.

Well that sucks - because I somehow doubt I'll have them all smoked in 3 months lol. Heck! They might not all be smoked within a year!!

I really like the mb3, but not at the msrp. They can usually be had on CI, for much cheaper. It's not a go-to for me, but every time i decide to grab one, I'm usually quite pleased. However, the V is my cigar of choice from Oliva.

Seems to be the theme of the day :).

I have to admit, I am looking forward to smoking another... which is a good sign.
