Opus craziness!

from experiance smoking opus i think they are highly overated, and they purposely hold back on distrbution to jack up prices.Tat, Illusione, Cruzado are indeed fine smokes. I just recently got hooked on Manowar Ruination cigars.

I've yet to smoke an Opus, so I can't comment. But I do have personal issues with spending that much on any stick when I get get 3 of those Tats, Illusione, and MoW Ruinations for the same price. (had my first Ruination a couple days ago, aren't those good?)

Not at all. I buy plenty of cigar that others consider overpriced myself, different strokes and all that. If you love Opus, by all means, buy Opus. My comment above holds for me even for the expensive Tatuajes--I have a tough time considering a box of Dracs when I know that for each one I could get 3 other very nice cigars that I really love.

But I also know that for special occasions I'd probably rather smoke one amazing stick than 3 really great ones, lol. So there's that too.

And by the way, I think that picture is in the Bible next to the commandment that says "Do not envy your neighbors stuff" lol

I do love Opus. Smoke a lot of great cigars and it is always in the rotation. What a haul. Around here you would have to mortgage your house for that lot.

Don't worry think they are worth every penny. I know some will say they are over-rated but I will tell you they are still one of my celebration cigars. I don't always think that a more expensive cigar is better but I do enjoy opus more then Padron Anniversary and at list they are cheaper. One more thing is I love me my tats but one of my favorites of them has also been my biggest letdown. I will never say that anyone buying a cigar they enjoy is wasting there money even if it's a HMR:thumbsup:

Smoke what you enjoy and play in the price range you are comfotable with.

Nate, your comments were great - you explained yourself well. I just don't think it's necessary to jump in a thread about a cool picture and call the cigars overrated and say somebody wasted their money. We all have personal opinions and that's what makes the world go round. I guess I'm feeling a bit sensitive tonight, I know that no one meant any harm...

Since that's my photo I'll make a little comment. I do smoke other things. I just like the flavor profile of Opus. I smoke just about anything. ISOM's, Tats, anjeos, and Opus are a few of my favorites. Many don't think they are worth the cost and their opinion is fine with me. I just don't agree with it. I buy and smoke what I like as I'm sure everyone here does.
