And for the record, I notice this thread didn't get any action until I dropped the spread... guess those Auburn fans aren't so confident afterall... :tonguerol:tonguerol
Hey bro, I don't really care but am rooting for the Ducks too. I think Oregon is too electric to be stopped.

However, I have to totally agree with MU Mike here. You claim you are confident in Oregon but yet you have to ask for 4 more points than the official spread? You then proceed to mock SEC fans for not being confident and then once you realize how terrible your proposal is and go with a real bet, you then mock Auburn fans again because they are not confident?!? :scratchhe

Remember, you are still the one with a 3 pt head start... if you were truly confident in your team, you should bet straight up.

Maybe I'm being misinterpreted... I was asking for the extra 4.5 points because of all the Auburn/SEC people running their mouth. If they are so overconfident, I figured I'd put 'em to the test. Obviously no one stepped up. I'm happy with my bet of Oregon +3... I don't need the extra 4.5 points. But if they would give them up, why not take them. So they're obviously not that confident.

So you're saying you need free points because you're not confident Oregon will win? If you were a real man saying you're confident, you should bet MU Mike straight up. :eyebrow:

No... I was being opportunistic. If someone will give up 7.5, why not take it?

you should take it if someone offers it. However, You asked for the extra points, because you're not as confident as you would like to think you are. You talked smack trying to make your crappy offer seem like a deal. I felt like betting it, but I can't bet the caliber of sticks you put up, against a guy with a zero trader rating a big mouth.

Auburn has the Heisman, and is favored to win. If you knew the Ducks were the best team you could bet it heads up.

I'll back you up with the sticks if he'll bet you. If Auburn wins you keep his sticks. If Oregon wins I'll pay out for you. I hate guys that talk alot of shit while trying to manipulate the line in their favor.

No no no... I did not ask for the extra points because of a lack of confidence. I don't know how many times I can say that. Who wouldn't take extra cushion if it is free? Nobody!

Obviously I'm digging myself a hole, and I tried to correct it by squaring up the bet with MU Mike, which I'm happy is in place. My intention wasn't to be some type of douche, even though I'm coming off that way. Years of listening to how awesome the SEC is made me figure someone was so confident that they'd go for the extra spread - although I'm of the thought that one game won't define the answer of SEC v. Pac-10. Anyways, I was wrong. Not much else I can add on that.

And really no offense to SEC fans... it really isn't a big deal - college football is not my life, more of a fun thing to watch and banter about. Not trying to knock anyone's conference (my favored conference is the Mountain West anyways... but that's a whole other can of worms). So yes, I'm backpedaling.

Ok, yes - I get it. I crossed some unwritten betting etiquette rule. I'm sorry. Really, it wasn't intentional. I've backed off my position and gone with a vegas bet with MU Mike. He was kind enough to point out my error, and so I changed my position.

Maybe the fact that you are offering up dog rockets that nobody wants is the problem......

:eyepoke: :stretchgr

Aaaaargh! I even offered to switch sticks for MU Mike since others' posts made me think he likes Opus... I went all Opus if he wants...

I can't win...

Really - peace offering! I didn't mean to be a dick! Really!

I'm hanging my head... :shame:

Can't we all just get along? :togetherl

This thread made me laugh.

Bookie: The line is 10
Gambling guy: Give me 20
Bookie:
Gambling guy: What!? I thought you were so confident!
Bookie: (sound of gun being cocked)
