Caught in the Crossfire
Here's a pic of the fan setup. Nothing special, just a 12vdc cpu fan, 12vdc wall adapter and timer. I cut the connector off the fan and added one (which I already had) to match the plug on the wall adapter. You could just splice the wires together instead. Just make a bracket to mount the fan on to fit your needs and youre good to go.I just picked up a used cpu fan (approx. 3x3) today from CDO for $1 and a used wall adapter for $2. Both in great shape and came with a one month guarantee (not a big deal for such a small investment but whos complaining).
I will hard wire the fan to the wall adapter then plug it in to a lamp timer. I have plenty of those at home. I have one that can be set in 10 or 15 minute increments so Ill probably set it to run for 10 or 15 min every hour. Ill check it when I get home and post a picture when I rig it up.
