Ernesto Padilla is one of the best guys you can ever meet. He is kind, funny, and full of life. Every dinner party or holiday party that we have in Florida, Ernesto is always the life of the party. We had a dinner for my moms birthday and the first person she asked for was Erny.

And the Padilla Miami kicks ass.

Used to be a great cigar... Haven't smoked one in a long time.
Which one? The 1932 is still an excellent cigar. The current "Miami" is not the same cigar as the "Miami 8&11" (different wrapper at least). The current one is a bit stronger, and more of a great straight-up Nicaraguan cigar compared to the old 8&11, which was really complex.

The current Miami in the robusto and lancero sizes is a really great stick, though. Right up there with Viaje and Casa Fernandez in terms of tasty straight-forward Nicaraguans.

Agreed the Miami and the 1932 are both excellent IMHO. If the new 8&11 is any indication, the Miami made sticks are going to be even better.

Padilla was my bridge between crappy entry level cigars(RP, Gurkha, etc) to excellent cigars(Tatuaje, Illusione, Casa Fernanadez).
Padilla was better and still cheap enough then the entry stuff, but once I had the later brands, I realized I didn't like his blending. The cigars lacked depth and the natural sweetness that I get from the better Nica cigars. The best way I can describe Padilla's blends are "sharp". Not in a good way. Just my experience.
Not bad cigars, especially for what you can find them for. Just not as good as other brands IMO.

I've enjoyed the Miami and 1932 blends in a variety of vitolas in the past. Also my "bridge" cigar. I don't really smoke them anymore, but had a 1932 lance a few months ago with 4 years of age and it was still quite good. There's just too many good smokes out there to keep up with everything - and there seems to be more everyday.

Either of them... My B&M kinda quit carrying a lot of Padilla stuff, along with Gurkha, I think due to the internet sales differences. I primarily due all my business through my B&M's, so it kinda just went the wayside. I've always enjoyed all Padilla stuff.

OK so it gets wierd. It seems the Miami with the new band and lion head is not made in Miami...yet.
However the Miami 8 & 11 is back and is made in Miami.

Confusing.
