Only issue I had with one was it was underfilled, and that was only one. Every other has been perfect (and delicious).

This thread inspired me yesterday to go pick up a natural and maduro 3000. Smoked the natural last night.... good stick, albeit a little harsh at the beginning. Had been too long.

I would agree they do have a lighter draw than most out there, but that works to your advantage if you are aging them for significant amounts of time, since many of my other sticks require some dry time after coming out of the frigidor.

The Padrons come out ready to smoke. I have quite a few boxes, a couple of them with a bit more than 2 years in the cooler; they are my all-time favorites.

Never a draw problem, splitting, uneven burn, etc.

I use a V-cutter rather than a punch on any of the Padrons unless its a torpedo.

I don't know really if any Padron I've ever smoked was too loose. Ashes too flaky? Sure.

I think so many cigars are packed so tightly now that we feel like anything else is abnormal, when in fact they may be the ones out of standard.

I like the naturals. I'm still a newbie, but they don't seem insufficiently packed. They're dead consistent, and I don't feel soft spots along the cigar or see any gaps in the filler at the foot. :dunno:

I usually use my v-cutter since they only have one cap.

I concur about the padrons being great smokes. I smoke the 4000 and the anniversaries. Every once and awhile the draw seems loose but i think its just because im used to tighter wrapped rockys or fuentes.

I actually like the loose draw on the Padron. I smoked a 1964 tonight. Almost no resistance. I'll have to smoke a 2000 maduro tomorrow night and compare. I still have a few stashed away with a few years.

Most of the Padron X000 line i have smoked, has been on the loose side, but not a deal breaker by any means. By contrast, I recently smoked a Kristoff maduro and the draw was so hollow and loose, it basically ruined the cigar that would have been great given the flavors I picked up.

Ive smoked through many boxes of the xx00 series, in all different sizes and I will say that theres normally one or two in a box that dont have the best construction ever, but I would never compare them to a "wind tunnel". To the OP give them another shot and if your smoking say a 7000, try a smaller size...the draw on the 2000 and the 3000 are almost always spot on.

The only complaint I have about Padron us their crappy cap. The cap always look like they were applied as an after thought. Great flavor and super consistent otherwise.

Had to pick a couple due to all this talk about em. Had a 3000 maduro last night. Very good no draw problem but it was a loose pack.
