When you smoke ALOT of cigars, you will find out that when they first ship, they are great, but then maybe two months or six months they drastically change into a more bland or less pronounced flavors. Theory is that the tobacco is aging and marring the flavors. Some say that its usually the first productions are the best and then subsequent production uses lesser quality tobacco and need time to age. Me personally, think they just go through a period of change. Could also be from smoking lots of cigars and your taste buds become fried too. About once a year, No cigar really tastes all that great and I need a rest period to recharge my taste buds and appreciation for what I'm smoking.
