Decided to give the Lot 23 a shot and see how they were. I remember having them before and being pretty decent. That was the connecticut.

Now with the maduro.. I guess I'm not blown away or really impressed with it. Seems to me like a pretty mediocre smoke, sort of a chocolate taste in the beginning that continued through the middle, maybe a slight pepper flavor, but in the end I just wasn't all that impressed.

Kinda disappointed in this one.

Anyone else share the same feelings, or even different feelings?

It was one of my first "real" cigars so perhaps I have some sort of nostalgia associated with it, but I've always thought it a fairly decent cigar. Now days I usually smoke 'em on the golf course.

I know how that goes, Dan.

I think i was just expecting too much from it. I was hoping for more than I bargained for.

Definitely wasn't a bad smoke, I guess it just wasn't something I'd right home about.

I've only been getting back into cigars recently, so I'll give it a few months and try one again to see if I think anything's changed. Haven't written it off completely, just off to the side for now I guess. Maybe a 2.5/5 rating for me.

I too consider them just an average smoke. It has been awhile since I fired one up because there are so many I want to try out.

I know this is overused but: it is incredible with age. I bought a box for like 70 bucks last fall, and the more months they get, the better they get. Some cigars hit a point where they are blah, my cheapo lot 23s get better and better. That's my .02

Perhaps I'll pick up a couple more and let them rest for a while then.

....and it's a cigar that's in a moderate price range too.
That's the best part about them. If we could come up with an equation that pitted their price tag, and their aging potential, versus their present enjoyment, I'm sure Lot23 would score high. Now all we need is a mathematician with a penchant for Perdomos and time on his hands.
