OMG!!! lol ... too cute lol... I'm just too anal... you know everytime they put your stick in their mouth they are comparing you to the last best stick they had in their mouth... ain't that about a bitch? literally? lolI know how you feel, Rem. Someone smoked one of my cigars a couple weeks ago and said, "This is in the top 3 cigars I've ever smoked." And I was like, "But it's not the best you've ever smoked?"
That's quite a list!I'm not sure... I'm always scrutinizing them... how they look... how they smoke... are they long enough... short enough... are the cuts clean... straight... are they aligned... is the color consistent... are the wraps clean... do they smell good... is the blend as good as I think it is... is it wrapped tight enough... too loose... are they balanced ... was there enough glue... too much glue... will they stand the test of time... is the finish smooth or are there divots ... will it be memorable in a positive way to the smoker... is the construction solid ... will they give a wonderful burn and a lovely ash... do they measure up to major manufacturing standards... etc. I think I look at a stick and say... would I give this to the president of the USA to smoke? Of course I say... not yet... I have a few other people before him that I think ... am I ready to have THEM smoke my sticks? If I can't say yes with confidence then I think I have not reached my personal bar of excellence... for me I am working my way up that list of who my sticks are worthy of being smoked by ... I'm getting there, slowly but surely... I think when I wouldn't hesitate to have Arnold Schwarzenegger smoke a ReMix then I would be satisfied lol ~xox
Crazy thing is... flavor is never a problem for me... it's all that other shit lol... I LOVE BLENDING! L O V E Love. It's like cooking... only better... I can smoke it lol I absolutely love rolling upon arrival of the leaf... and Caleb knows I will call and complain if my tobacco isn't delivered exactly how I like lol... truth is... it really does boil down to the leaf... and the draw... I have a blind taster and that's all he cares about... he's my fav. but ... you know how the seeing man is... nit picking at every irregularity and seems to be flawThat's quite a list!
A wise man once said..."If a cigar is rolled with poorly flavored tobacco, no matter how pretty it looks it will always be a bad cigar. However, even a poorly rolled cigar can be enjoyable when using good tobacco."
So all those flaws you're worried about are very minor and easy to perfect provided you have focused all your energy on good tasting tobacco. Good flavor is the most difficult to achieve. The rest is easy to control.
The way I look at it, every cigar is a journey. They each have their own story to tell. The first part of the journey/story is the appearance, like the cover of a book. We try to lure the smoker in by the appearance of the cigar and hope that the "cover" is an indication of what the story or journey will be. By the end of the journey, the cover of the book isn't what is leaving the lasting impression, it's where the end user is left when there is nothing but ash.Crazy thing is... flavor is never a problem for me... it's all that other shit lol... No mold?!? Hot damn that's lookin goodHand-bunched torpedo, 52 x 6 1/2". I modeled this after the Montecristo No. 2. Five leaves filler, 1 1/2 leaves binder.
Mine look the same No mold gives more of a crayola finish but it's still a great drawHand-bunched torpedo, 52 x 6 1/2". I modeled this after the Montecristo No. 2. Five leaves filler, 1 1/2 leaves binder.
I didn't have any molds big enough, let alone pointy. So I hand-bunched it, then paper molded it, then used plucking and scissors and various binder pieces to shape the head. Full-on make-shift job but my first-ever torpedo, so I can live with it. I bunched 4 in total and am wrapping all of them today, god willing. No mold?!? Hot damn that's lookin good
I used to do it that way... then I thought about cake decorating tools... they have them for $2 at walmart... stainless steel ... used to ice cakes... just buy the bit and it easily presses your torpedo works like a charm... buy a few so you can use them while still rolling ~xoxI didn't have any molds big enough, let alone pointy. I've been using those nibs as my cap cutters since the beginning. I'll look into using them for my torpedo tip shaping, too. Thanks for the "tip."
Obviously you want the ones with the round tip
Don't give me no good idears lol they might fit a nice 80rg
Do you offer a regular, subscription plan for your new releases?Lady and gentleman, I present to you "Mexican Chocolate". My favorite use of Mexican San Andres to date. Corojo seco, Dominican viso, criollo ligero, with a Dominican binder. Loads of chocolate and a ton of spice. Slightly racially offensive(to sensitive whiny types) band artwork provided by a good friend of mine.
