Anyone ever try mixing cigar tobacco in a pipe? I was curious and tried a Undercrown today and holy crap. It really concentrated the spice and some of the flavors. I wouldn't say I loved it but it was definitely worth a try. I may actually try mixing it with some of my bulk to add some spice to my pipe tobacco. Its safe to say I won't be doing this much because I actually feel a little bad with all the work that's put into rolling these beautiful smokes. I was just curious if many of you have tried it?

Yeah I've done it once with the nub of a great cigar that I didn't want to give up. Seemed to work alright. I'm with ya though, can't say I really enjoyed it, but it was certainly worth a shot.

I had thought about using a nub but usually by the time you get down to a nub the smoke isn't the same. I wanted to try it with a fresh cigar.

I've got a bunch of crappy cigars from the rocky mountain cigar festival that you can use to smoke in your pipe. Won't even nub them for you.

C & D have several blends that contain cigar leaf, they are good but I aways thought they could use a little more. Nothing wrong with a little blending experiment.

I'm guessing you ground (grinded?) that cigar up? Looks like a ton of short filler to me!
Chef knife... :p

The real problem that I found was that when a cigar is rolled it is made to have a certain balance to it. When its turned into mince it no longer has that balance and its just a crap shoot of tobacco you throw in your pipe.

Billy Budd and Purple Cow have cigar leaf in their mix according to the reviews. I wouldn't mind trying either of these if I came across a shop where I could get just an ounce to sample it.
