this 4" blade fits my tiny girl-hands perfectly!

BTW, anyone actually get training with your EDC knives? It was a major eye-opener. NEVER get in a knife duel (fight where you both have one). Nobody walks home clean.

I have spent quite a few hours training with P'Kal. Great defense system. My EDC's can be used for everyday chores and what not, but they are personal defense first. Call me paranoid, but I honestly feel very comfortable defending myself with a knife. What you said is true though, if you are in a knife fight, expect to walk away bleeding.

I've been practicing Krav Maga for a while, and there's a Sayoc Kali school that uses the space from time to time that I've dabbled with as well. I try to use my EDC as much as possible, but it's hard to find uses other than opening priority mail packages.

I've taken some Kali classes, a bit of P'Kal, and tried out the Cold Steel American Bowie style, but it was all gimmick and show. I have taken a lot of practical knife classes mixed in with my martial arts though.

The most eye opening part for me was when they used rubber practice knives with red lipstick on the edge, then said "Alright... Go for it."

I honestly did pretty well in every match I went into. Won about 9/10ths of them, actually... And I left damn near every match with severe damage, if not fatal "wounds" from the lipstick.

Not something I'd ever want to do in real life

I've carried my SOG Flash II just about every day. Lightweight, good quality, spring-assisted opening, safety, and it cost me I think $40 (been years since I got it, still going strong).

I've also got the standard Army Ka-Bar in the car...

And for real "oh sh!t" moments that may arise when I occasionally go into less-than-friendly areas, I've got this little goodie...

I got my two good Buck Buck knives and my trusty Leatherman Surge that I couldn't live without. My favorite though is the small pocket knife in the middle, it was my first knife and I received it from my father when I was about 10 years old. He engraved my name and address on it and dulled it down. I still haven't sharpened it to this day.

Any recommendations on where to find training? My goal is to never have to use my knife in a SD situation, but should I ever need it - I'd like to have a little better idea of what I'm doing than wailing around like a newborn.
