Rick, praying for you, your dad and family. Can you fill us in a little more, so we can be more specific in prayer?
Its long but Ill try to keep it brief. In answer to your question, he has had heart problems for many years, a number of heart attacks which have made his heart muscle weaker over time. He is on a ton of medication including stuff for congestive heart failure but then that screws with his kidneys so its into the hospital, stop or change those meds, fix the kidney failure and then repeat the cycle months later. He also has diabetes and a pinched nerve at one of the lower vertebrae which has made it difficult and painful to walk even with a walker. They cant operate because he wouldnt survive the surgery. Right now he cant walk at all. He also has a pacemaker/defibrillator in his chest that use to just look like a bump. He has lost so much weight now that it is coming to the surface of the skin. He said you can actually see the wires and connections right through his skin. The doctors said they really cant move anywhere else, so basically he is screwed with that.
He has always been a tough (and sometimes thick headed) Marine but now I can hear it in his voice, he sounds very tired.
I believe that prayers and positive thoughts can help especially when asked for someone else.
Thank you all again.
Rick
