My year of birth was post World War Two, I have seen the world change for the good, and for the bad.
I have seen new technology I like, and reasons to hate technology.
For the record, I think 99% of the people on this forum were also born post WWII and have also seen the world change in good and bad ways.

Kids today IMHO are different they in many cases are addicted to electronic, do not use their brains, are not taught to think, and a lot are what comedians and society call typical millennia's.

Many schools no longer teach they indoctrinated.

A lot of kids today could not function for 72 hours with out their electronics, they can not do a simple math problems with out a battery or electric device. Can't make or count change when working fast food with out electronic help.

The scary part is they will be out leaders in 10 - 15 years, our doctors, nurses, etc.
On the flip side, it's those same "kids" that will create the cure and preventative measures that you were asking about earlier. So, 6 in one hand...

haha - I saw that! There are those out there with a crap-ton of kids, yes. But they aren't the norm. Of the couple's who do have a crap-ton of kids:
  • 10% of them have a TV show
  • 85% of them have some sort of weird tendencies
  • 5% of them are normal, functioning members of society

It's science. :)
That is beyond screwed up saw it on the news. Really people you don't chain your kids to to wall. What the hell?
I think you may be right with your science.

Many schools no longer teach they indoctrinated. My youngest step grandson came home the other day after being taught about boycotting. He announced he was boycotting anything with “milk” in it. Mom & Dad said OK, after dinner he wanted Ice Cream from the refrigerator, yes he asks before taking, was told ice cream had milk in it, so his reply was the boycott was being called off.

Wonder how many people could keep busy, not going crazy, or taking their life by sucide if Cable TV, and the Internet went away for 30 days. We just had Am Radio, and bicycles, and feet to walk with. Yes we would have water, power, and gas both natural & gasoline.
Wow, I was born after World War II as well! What a coincidence.

I left all Social Media outlets (minus BOTL, obviously) because I kept angering people with stupid things I'd say that I thought were funny. For example, my friend once posted about how he had a particularly rough morning with getting his pre-teen sons up and ready for school. I commented with "Hang in there brother. Just remember, kids are like fine wine, they get better with age. ...and they are best kept in the basement." and holy crap did I receive some backlash for it! People I had never met or spoken to saw that comment and started telling me how rude and insensitive I am for making fun of a very real and sad situation that happens all over America.

...I thought it was funny. :cautious:

That's about how my fiance and I are....even directly to our kids. We're real and honest and open, with a good dash of humor. They'll be stronger adults for it and not end up like the softies you're referring to online.

Well someone much older then me recently said something to me that made sense. He fought under George Patton, in WW - 11 was in Normandy France on D-Day + 5.

He said he recalls when Americans thought up products to solve the problems of the world, the products were made in the USA by Americans, and we the USA sold them to Americans & the people of the world.

He said today American are still coming up with ideas for product. Then have them made in China, and off shore. They as consumer try and buy these products if we have the money.

Here is some I miss about what I call G.O.D. good old days. We use to buy thing that lasted, and were fixable like a Toaster, TV, Radio. If something quit working we took out to a fix it shop, it was repaired, back working, and the fix it shop bill was cheap.

Today it is a throw away world were you throw away, buy new, and most companies do not have customer service that answers the telephone. Instead you are told push one for English, two for speanish, were busy, leave a message.

Newer is not alway better! Recall these? They worked well.

Lasted for ever, and there were adjustable model later in the 1960's.

Dude, relax! haha Is everything better today than it was in the "G.O.D."? Nope. Is life better back in the "G.O.D." compared to today? Nope. There are so many (SO MANY) things that are better today, though. For example, you have so many more choices to choose from across all aspects of life.

Don't like customer service at a specific retailer - shop somewhere else. In fact, use Amazon! If there is ever a problem/situation with an order, they'll fix it in a way that is fast and convenient for you and often times will even go above and beyond for you. And, you don't even have to call them, you can go to their website and talk to someone via a chat window. Real-time service! ...and all using modern technology. :)

They STILL work well! I use these instead of disposable razors or the crappy 5-blade razors that cost too much money for what they are. I love double edge saftey razors and straight edges. But others don't - for whatever their reasoning. But the point is, we all have a choice. And we are better for it.

I have never ever bought on Amazon, I spend my dollar at Wally World. My particular store has many people who have work at Wally World 10, 15, 20, or more years. I say why they like Wal-Mart.

Honestly there are many things that are no longer available that were made in the USA, that worked, lasted forever, and if they broke people in their service centers fixed those item like new for a small fee.

Today there are good companies like XIKAR if it breaks they just replace it easy as 1, 2, 3.

You know what else went down in your G.O.D.? Separate water fountains, bathrooms, restaurants, cross burning, just to name a few. Is there still hatred today? Sure, but not nearly to the degree there was back then. Lead pipes, asbestos, poor automotive safety...exc exc. One other big thing that occurred during the great WWII era....the mass execution of almost a quarter million civilians. I wouldn't call that good at all.

But if we teach the younger generation real history, not Politically Correct History they may understand what the world is like it is today.

50 + years after ending my Vietnam ERA Military Service, I read a lot of book by many different authors that cover many subjects related to the US involvement in the RVN 1945 - 1975.

Interesting history lesson after the fact, had we only known, had we done thing differently, had JFK lived, all history.

Sooooo..... How's y'alls weather today?....
One of the ways I hate to wake up is when I wake up to the sound of the garbage man coming down my street 3 hours earlier than he normally does. Today was one of those days. Ugh. So I fly out of bed and throw a t-shirt and shorts on and slip my feet into the flippy floppies so I can run outside and move my trash cans to the curb. I didn't even think about the weather.

-16 with the windchill. My nipples were rock solid and my pork-sword shrunk up faster than ever before.
