I've been smoking for a little over 4 years now and up until a little over a month ago I could count on my 2 hands the times I actually felt uncomfortable from a strong cigar, and on one hand where I felt like I could puke. Now no matter how strong the cigar is or isn't I feel a major nicotine kick, most of the times I feel like I'm going to puke, and tonight I actually did puke, a lot, from a La Hacienda that I almost got to the last third with. I would say I've been smoking more often but not usually exceeding 1 a day. I'm starting to think there is something wrong health wise. And I'm always pairing with water (so it's not alcohol), and just about always having some sort of meal prior to, in the case of today I had a decent sized dinner and an ice cream sandwich right before smoking. Anybody experience this?

I wonder if you've had any other physical changes lately. Gained or lost weight, large increase or decrease in physical activity, or any other changes you've made or noticed.

Only change I could possibly think of is I drink coffee more often, but that isn't such a recent change. I honestly have no clue. Nothing I can think of has changed. I even felt this way from a Fuente 858 Maddie, which I can't recall feeling anything from those ever.

I can hear the doctors now, "getting sick from smoking, maybe you should stop smoking, tobacco cessation class..."

Ok so I'm sitting here reading and thinking. If you weren't a daily smoker before and now are, it's reasonable to think you body has developed more of an attachment to nicotine. So perhaps when you get that daily fix you're really hitting your neuroreceptors hard and getting more of a rush off of it leading to getting sick. Or maybe there has been a change in the way your body is releasing insulin or glucose.

I had this happen to me a few years ago. I could take on all the hard hitters without any problems, and then about 4 years into this hobby, I started turning green half way into every cigar. It got so bad that I had to forgo my favorite regulars, and replace them with milds. Even with the milds, I had to have some type of snack available to eat along with my cigar. It lasted about 4 to 6 months, but eventually I was able to go stronger and stronger until I was back to my hard hitting favorites.

Hopefully you will grow out of it over time like I did. Of course that's assuming you have no new health issues that could be causing your problem.

I feel this is more than likely linked to your recent change in coffee intake. You say it's not much but it may be enough to be throwing you off. Even though most of us smoke "regularly", we have to remember that nicotine is an opiate. Combine that with caffeine which is a CNS stimulant and most will feel an added buzz if you're not use to it. I know there are some people on here that have complained about it. I myself can't do it. I smoked on two occasions while drinking coffee and it was overwhelming.

How many cups of coffee do you think you drink a day? Not actual cups you drink out of, the specific measurement of a cup, because most coffee mugs hold two cups of coffee or more. Has your water intake changed recently? If you're dehydrated, the nicotine/caffeine effects will be larger.

Generally, the only time I feel sickly is after a cigar or two and lots of coffee on Saturday or Sunday mornings. By the end of my smoke, I often feel a little sick. But it only lasts a short time. Seems to happen more when I'm hitting the coffee hard.

That's not your problem tho. Very strange. Hit up the doc and get a checkup brother. Just to make sure everything else is good.

I think I probably am consuming drinks with 4 to 8 shots of espresso a day. Measured in shots because thats what Im using to make my drinks.

I'm not judging you nor am I a doctor of any kind so I'm no expert but that is a lot of caffeine, my friend. There's nothing wrong with going to the doctor to get a check up if you feel you need to but I would maybe start with taking a break on caffeine for a few days and try to smoke again.

Well back to this. I slowed down my caffeine intake and I think it had a positive effect.
I still think there has been some sort of physiological change within my body, maybe blood sugar is off, or Idk I'm no doctor. Ive gotten the pukes a few more times and now the dentist is concerned since she can see damage from the puke to my teeth. Still gonna smoke though as soon as my mouth is healed from surgery.

I ran in to this recently. I realized a part of it was my puff style. I was taking the smoke in enough to retrohale before blowing any out of my mouth. I was taking the smoke in to my throat. Plus, I was retrohaling much more often. The combination hand me getting the swoons from straight medium body sticks.

Maybe, paying more attention to your puffing style would help out.
