At first I thought it was funny. Now I'm wondering where the SS was? Kinda like on Sept. 11th: The SS's directive is to protect the Office of the President - but POTUS stayed at & went to another pre-planned, public function all while our country was under attack. It defies logic. I personally can't stand that guy. But you're right, he IS our president. And while I don't agree with alot of what Obama represents, I'm terrified that someone is gonna take a pot-shot at him and have it blamed on race. While our sitting president is responsible for pushing ill-advised policy, without a back-up plan that resulted in the deaths of hundreds of thousands in the middle east and desimating a country. I can understand why there are a few out there that have a bit more than policy disagreements with him.

I'm not tryin to start shit - I just see both sides of the arguement. Distaste for the current pres, distaste for the new one & (it's because I have) respect for the office & the spirit this country was founded on. Long live the constitution.

I heard today, if you can believe this, since it was an Iraqi state function the US-SS must take a second seat and keep the Iraqi detail in front. If W was properly trained by Mr. Miyagi he would of snatched that first one in flight and tossed it right back before Hadji got the second one off.

You are actually correct. When I was up in Ankara, Turkey working a VPOTUS visit the Turkish SS or whatever they're called were running the show. They were like boyscouts compared to our men. Plus they do deal with terrorists on home soil a bit more there so I don't think they were incapable by any means.

The President was lucky the shoe was not anything more lethal, like acid, bomb, etc.

SS was extremely slow in response. Wish I was sitting next to the shoe thrower.:riflefire
