The first couple of these I had tunneled on me...and then turned harsh in the last third. However, I keep them on hand now. A little rest time really turns this stick around...though tunnel is construction. Just got a couple from a bad batch I guess.

I'm glad to hear that most of the current reports are positive. I ordered a bundle from Famous a couple weeks ago, but they got sent to my NC address by mistake (my mistake, not Famous'). I arrived today, and the smokes where waiting. Can't wait to give one a try. Maybe tonight around the campfire.

My local has a couple now. I was thinking of trying one out yesterday but the Anejo shark won my money instead. I didnt want to risk having a non enjoyable smoke as my first smoke at the HERF.

In hindsight I should have given it a shot. But Im sure Ill have a chance in the future. I heard a few guys saying they LOVE them and others saying they dont understand the hype.

I smoked my first one around the camp fire last night. Great cigar, sharp burn. I smoked a 2nd one tonight, and the wrapper fell apart with about 2" to go. Didn't keep me from nubbing it. These remind me of the Genesis Project, but with far more intense flavors. I'm sure glad that I got a full bundle.

Not really a full review here, but I just finished my second Nica Rustica and wanted to share.

The first one I had was after just a short rest, and I was kinda "meh". I remember it was a bit harsh, with a very strong aroma.

This time around it was more mellow, and I enjoyed it much more.

Great construction and burn, typical of most DE products. Ample smoke, and no touch ups needed at all. Still had a wonderfully strong aroma, and I finally pinned down the main note running throiugh the entire cigar as ginger...Very interesting flavor. Long finish...Possibly aided by the aroma (?)

For the price, this cigar represents an excellent value, and I love both the covered foot and pigtail; which represent another level of craftsmanship not typical in such an inexpensive smoke.

For those who may have put this cigar on the back burner after smoking it ROTT (like myself), you may want to re-visit. :)
That's pretty funny because I had a similar first experience. I do have a few left and should probably smoke them and see if they are worth a box purchase...
