Someone is also giving the impression that the La Verite is canceled, as in it won't be released this year or ever... but considering the fact that 2008 has already been aged and 2009 has been blended... I didn't think it was likely.

Did you make the decision on the monsters yet? I know a bunch of people would still like to see it happen.

Edit: If that is the case, I'll help you get rid of some of that excess inventory, haha

Nothing wrong with aging a cigar till it is ready. I think it is great that we all know they are rolled and ready go just waiting for the right time.

Atually the rumor started back in September around the time Pepin opened his new fatory. Some--who were not on the trip-- posted (not here) about a buyout...the real rumor was centered around La Aurora buying Pepin...when in fact it was simply that Pepin liked La Aurora's tobacco and was buying some. (He is using it for the Nestor Dominicana). Amazing how rumors start. However Pete selling to La Aurora is fact.(heh)

Now THAT rumor I had heard, and think your explanation sounds solid.

I don't think the Pepins will sell to anyone -- this is what they love to do. It's part of who they are, and it's not about making a buck to them. The fact that they have become so successful doing what they love is a tribute to America and to freedom in general, but it's about the art more than the money I think. I honestly don't think they'd sell MFC at any price.

it was like this....

i was at some b&m and asked the owner why he didn't stock any of pete's stuff and after he went on a rant about how he couldn't get it yet, he starts saying that "pete will be on his own soon cause of the hollaween stuff.." he basicly said that because a few boxes were freshly painted and a few sticks cracked, that pepin wanted nothing to do with you any more, that it was an imbarasment to him...

now, he (the shop owner) has no idea i have met you or that i know anything about cigars in general, i told him that your basicly his other kid and he continued to say what he was saying... i just smiled and said "that's too bad".

and that is too bad, that some one can't get a brand and has to talk smack or gossip negativly on it so that rumors spread...
