Vpap is the new purtied up Bipap. VPaps can serve as a Vauto, BiPap and a Cpap. All three differ by the pressures. Cpap has a constant pressure during inhalation and exhalation. Bipap has different pressures for inhalation and exhalation. Vpap has more of a patient defined termination of breath criteria. Basically, it's more patient oriented and allows for more passive exhalation. Sometimes exhaling on a bipap machine has to be forced...which is uncomfortable. Vpap was designed to increase patient comfort and therefore compliance. I can give you more intricate details but I think they would bore you. Hope that helps.
