The defense gets a lotta blame for this one too, but I definately agree with that statement about the Ol' Ball Caoch!

<---- UK football season ticket holder for a long time

.... after the Auburn loss last weekend I was a bit dejected so I gave my tickets to my father and go to our cabin for the weekend since it was early muzzleloader season for deer. Saturday night at the cabin after an unsuccessful day chasing the yard goats I sat down to listen to the game on the radio...no tv at the cabin. Poured a glass of basil haydens and lit up a EP Carrillo short run. At first I thought another loss, but by the end of the game I poured 3 more drinks and was jumping up and down yelling at the radio!

Huge win for UK. I just wish it was Brooks who would have gotten the Spurrier monkey off our backs.

Go Cats!!

I have been mulling this over. Defense wasn't stopping Ky, overtime would be no guarantee.

You have a quarterback completing 70% of his passes. You have the best receiver in the country.

I think going for the win at one stroke had as much chance of WINNING the game as the multiple uncertainties of making the field goal ( might miss, might be blocked ) PLUS the chance of LOSING in overtime.

I won't discount the ego factor. But consider this, who would you want calling the play for one shot into the end zone? Other than the sainted Johnny Unitas, of course.

I don't think it was a bad play call at all. It happens all the time. The throw should have been made where the SC receiver, and only the SC receiver, could have a chance at it. SC has an awesome field goal kicker. He could have tied the game up, but who knows what would happen in overtime. Kentucky came out an outplayed SC in the second half, plain and simple. Sooner or later you win a close one or two.

I know, but sometime Spurrier can make some Bone Head calls. Almost made me think back to last year when he called the fade route in the End zone 3 plays in a row and was denied all 3 times. He is the best play caller in college just now SC is looking a lot different with 2 losses than 1.
