For Xmas, we bought my boss a 200 stick, glass top humi. I was not consulted regarding the buy or I would have stopped the glass top madness. The top has a wood trim around an analog hydrometer.
We have been having problems keeping the humidity above 59%. I have placed beads in there, but it won't bump up, unless I wet the inside. Yesterday, after a staff meeting, I really checked out the seal again on the lip, using the dollar test. It has a great seal around the base of the lid, but I also saw a small lifted space around the top of the lid. BAAAMMMM it hit me. We have an area that needs some type of sealant around it to make the unit work. My boss loves the humi, since we all gave it to him with an engraved plaque. No one wants to get him another one, so we are going to have to save this one.
My question is, which sealant would be the best to seal the area between the wood and glass to make it a tight seal and not taint the smokes/humi with the odor? Anyone help me, Ron, Wade, Arlin, Mark? hehe
Thanks,
Bill
PS, if it would have been up to me, raising $500 for his humi, smokes, lighter and cutter, I would have bought him an avallo!!
