Not very fancy tires... I think I paid close to $60 each, with all the balancing, etc.

Anyway... decent place in town. Got me right in, and he said "Let's just call it $45". That's why I like hometown type businesses like that!

Ever have a flat tire in Joplin MO, I highly recommend Grande Tire Co.!! I was pretty happy to get off the hook at that price.

BUT... they did NOT save the thorn for me... dammit!

It's good to see a post with such high regards for a shop like that. It's very rare to read a rave about a shop-thanks for posting it!

It does really suck about your tire. My girl screams at me every time I drive over a curb or anything else that she thinks might damage my tires. Did you have a lot of miles on the tires? If the new tread is significantly more than the other tires, you might want to replace the other side so things are 'even'.

That's quite the nasty thorn!

FWIW - I've repaired a sidewall before...with moderate success, for an offroad-only Jeep (mine)...it held up pretty good but would still leak. It took four or five industrial-type tire plugs. This was for a 38.5" TSL-SX Super Swamper (at $300 or more each I figured it was worth a shot!).
