This thread was super helpful. I was gonna make in about this very thing. Good thing I looked first! I placed an order of about 50 sticks from famous smoke last Wednesday and it was supposed to be next day but they messed it up and now I won't have them till the 16th according to tracking. Guess I will have to let the hem sit for a month. I dont know if I can wait!!!!! Ahhhh.
Just smoke them. What's the worst that could happen?
I agree, it's not a huge deal. As a beginner, smoking slower is probably more important than anything. No need to get stressed over RH at this point. They probably will be wet anyway, and some extra transit time will help it.

The worst that will happen is that the stick will explode on you, draw will be too tight, flavor will be muted, and it will be bitter, all because most retailers keep their humidity slightly higher ( even 70% is too high IMHO ) so they will ship well. Shoot for 65% and you will be rewarded.

They got here yesterday morning and, were actually dry as all hell. They were shipped with no humidification just cigars in a box. So they will need to sit. Just because your a beginner doesn't mean that you shouldn't take proper care of your cigars. Rushing things and not storing them correctly will influence the taste which will then influence the person smoking them. Smoke as slow as you want if your cigar was improperly taken care of it wont matter. As a beginner this is as important as anything IMHO, because it tastes like shit you wont smoke it. But in the end it may be your own fault. Just because someone is new doesn't mean they should develop bad habits out of laziness. Not to mention when I spend hundreds of dollars on something Im not the type to mistreat that object. This being said, I smoked one right away ( a nub 464T maduro) HAHAHA, and while it was ok it was very dry and cracked and made a mess and was not worth the hassle. On a side note Famous Smoke is sending some Liga Privada NO.9s to make up for their shipping errors so I am HAPPY.

I always smoke on arrival. Then I let majority sit dry a couple days. Most seem to smoke different if not better after brief rest. I buy boxes so there are always some that sit longer. I have no patience tho

Depends on how many you are getting. If I bought a box I would more than likely smoke one the very next day, but if it was a trade and I only received one stick I normally wait at least 2-3 weeks.
