Smoke one now and see how it is. That's the only real way to tell. That said, I love a Monte 4 fresh, and I love an old one too... They can be hit or miss, probably due to massive production, but when they are on they are classics for a reason.

KYLE! Okay, I've been wanting to see some empirical testing on wrapper color, and this sounds like the perfect test batch! Same codes, totally different wrapper color. They have plenty of age, too.

I can probably commit to something along those lines Nate. I'm still gonna let these rest a bit (just landed last night), but I've been interested in wrapper color and it's impact on flavor for a while now as well, so I'll certainly report back once I've smoked a coupe and reach a solid conclusion.
