I've really been into old fashioned lately and I'm down to an inch or so in my Bulleit rye (my first rye purchase). Went to the local a couple days ago and did some research on what they had in stock since I literally know next to nothing on what is good rye wise. I decided on a bottle of Pikeville, but obviously when I went back this evening it was gone. Michter's was my second choice. No biggie.
Funny exchange between my wife and me there.
Me: I'm probably going to get that bottle of Michter's there
Her: $40? My God, that's expensive.
I then picked up a bottle of Lock, Stock, and Barreled 13 priced at $98.
Her: Nooo!!
Me: That $40 bottle doesn't look so bad now. Huh?

Physically healthy, perhaps. Don't forget mental health though.
This is true. I actually have an appointment with the dr for that because ever since I had viral meningitis last year things haven't been quite right for me mentally. It hasn't been easy admitting that and actually actively trying to do something to fix it.

Oh man, sorry to hear that, I was really only trying to suggest that alcohol (in 'moderation' whatever that means) is good for mental health, despite being supposedly bad for physical health. Its a balancing act. Anyway, take care of yourself!

Absolutely man and I totally agree. I have done enough research to convince me that alcohol in moderation is actually good for you physically as well. It's the moderation part I've had issues with.

Stumbled upon these never hads at the corner store while with the gf...shockingly for retail! I tell her how many of the other shops in the area mark them up quite a bit. She walks back into the store, gets the 2nd and last bottle of Stagg Jr. they had and says "well what if you like it and want more? It'll probably only be available at rip off prices". She tried to get more weller antique, too, but we already got their last.

Turns out they were different batches as well (#5 and #6, I believe)

If you can find it again, grab the Pikesville. You won't be disappointed.
