So still new to smoking cigars. Had a cao gol today, like 30 minutes ago, and I can't keep my eyes open. It aslo upset my stomach a bit made me feel like I might vomit. Iv had a few of these and this hasn't happened before. So I was wondering are there a certain type of cigar this happens with. I assume it has to do with the nicotine content. As I'm not a heavy smoker high nicotine can cause sleepyness and nausea. Any have a cigar that does this to them. I could see this being nice before bed but in the middle of the day this is a bit rough.

Could be a number of things that caused a difference in your experience. You might have had a meal before and are now smoking on an empty stomach, etc.
Try drinking a soda or having something with sugar while you smoke, the sugar will help counteract the nicotine so you don't get that nausea again.

I have heard a 'Mexican coke' will do the trick, as it has real sugar in it.

It will taste better for sure, but any sugary drink will work. I have very limited scientific understanding, but from what I understand, corn syrup would theoretically work faster to counteract the nicotine. Something about the chemical structure.
I have never had to drink anything for the nicotine buzz, but have had the same thoughts.
I've had the occasional cigar do that to me. It's never been the same one twice. I try to drink something sugary when it happens. Sometimes I've almost purposefully smoked on an empty stomach (knew I should eat first but decided against it) and not feel the way I thought I might.

I've had the cigars I love best do that from time to time...I know the CAO Brazilia GOL is one of my very fave sticks, and from time to time, I'll get the nicotine blues on them...Agree with the others, it just depends. I do know that I like drinking something with a smoke, and probably water is the best for me, but I'm intrigued by the Mexican Coke/Pepsi idea...
Made a huge mistake and had a NHC Reserva around noon early in the week and had only ate a little burrito. Puked most of the afternoon, fun times.
I've tried real sugar coke and Pepsi but they both coat the palate and tend to effect the flavor of the cigar (for me).
I tend to go for sprite because the citrus taste doesn't linger and it's not super syrup heavy so it seems not to coat the palate and taint the flavors (at least not as much). To me even if it's a slight distortion or difference, when we spend the $ we do on these leaves my preference is to enjoy the experience AND taste the cigar.

As far as I'm concerned, cigars and ice cream go with everything.
Agreed. While not ice cream I enjoyed a tat pcr with a strawberry shaved ice.

being new and not a big smoker ive recently had a davidoff churchill cigar which made me ridiculously sleepy.. the smoke itself was very meh... wasnt a fun session... will definitely keep something sugary at hand next time.
