Both the Party Shorts & Cohiba Secretos seem to preform well, even with little age on them, which most always appeals to me.

This is intresting, our dear friend Jim is lobbying hard for the 2008 and I have asked around, smoked but nothing from 2008 in the regular produktion tastes better then usual to me or ANYONE I have asked, I know Rob from FOH says some stuff from late 2008 is roving to be good but I just dont see it and neither does anyone I know. But 2008 Partagas 898 has been bad the 2 boxes I have had, and the 10-15 my buddies has tryed has pretty much been below standard.

Wish I got my hand on one of the 2008 boxes you guys have to be able to try one good from 2008.
I've had some great Bolivars from '07, and a number of great sticks from '08 from different marcas, but I don't smoke nearly as many Habanos as you. Most people seem I've heard seem to agree on a couple things, though:

1) Cuban tobacco from 2006 to the present has been, in general, very good
2) Habanos from 2006 onwards have been more approachable when young than in years past (this this effects longer aging, I don't know)
3) 2010 was a stellar year for Cuban tobacco in general and many Habanos lines

If I had the ability, I'd get vintage 2010 boxes of all my favorites, as I"m sure they'll be very good in years to come. I've had a few that I think are already good now (Party Short, Boli RC, R&J SC), and I've never before enjoyed fresh Habanos.

Random chime in here... I don't even know what the topic is about..... just saw "La Chupacabra" as the last posting so I had to see who that was. Haha! I live in Arizona and previously lived in Mexico... I like the idea of your screenname.

One thing, though...... you should edit it to be "El" Chupacabra... unless you're a woman? Shrug... we still get the point, I guess... just bad Spanish; haha!

!Salud, amigo (?amiga?)! :cbig:
My wife and I own a home in Puerto Morelos, Mexico. We spent about four months of the year living there. The "La" is for my wife she is the "Blood sucking goat" LMAO. My Spanish is a work in progress. I can get by in Mexico. Most in that area speak some english. It being a resort town. The el, la, los still has me confused at times. Rosetta stone has given me a large vocabulary but does not help much on putting together sentences or constructing conversation. Most Mexicans will speak to me in english rather then suffer threw my spanish. I think they are glad I just try to speak the native language.

Maybe the best value among CCs in the half-hour smoking range is the Jose L Piedra Breve. Has that nice aromatic Cuban cache, but the cost is very low, considering its nation of origin.
