Nice, I better buy it.CHOKE might be his best, imho. The detail and complex interiority he got spot on.

Let me say that Fight Club is my favorite movie of all time, and I've probably watched it 500 times. That being said, I think the book is slightly better. They both stand kind of on their own, though. I feel both touch on different themes and different plot lines are developed through both. It's a rare time when you can't necessarily say the book is better than the movie.Oh man, I bought Choke for someone, ever since, I've been wanting to read it. I'll get it next time I go to NY, for sure.
Haven't read fight club, though, I always hear that the movie was waaaaaaaaay better than the book. Who knows, I'll have to judge it and experience it myself.
Infinite Jest was like that for me. I laughed out loud and hard, too!Same here - Fight Club is my favorite, though I've never read the book.
Choke (the book) was WAY better (& even funnier) than the movie: the only book that made me laugh so hard that I actually had to put the book down.
:hysterica
I agree.CHOKE might be his best, imho. The detail and complex interiority he got spot on.

How is it? I'm always leary when authors I like start writing "with" someone else.dead or alive tom clancy
still pretty good. all the old characters are back again. i think he was kind of the first to write the topical novels. now there are so many who do it, he is not quite as 'special' as he was originally. about half way through and it is enjoyable. How is it? I'm always leary when authors I like start writing "with" someone else.
If you are getting ready to start in on Hunger Games, make sure you have the next two books handy. They read fairly quickly to begin with, but trust me, you will have trouble putting them down. EXCELLENT series.Just finished Lolita and Old Man and the Sea. Trying to knock off a few classics. Now either going to read Hunger Games or Crime and Punishment.
