Just starting The second sex by Simone de Beauvoir. So far, very interesting. Made me think of a question in there that i have never really thought of before... "What IS woman?"

While America Aged by Roger Lowenstein. An absorbing tale of how pensions ruined General Motors, stopped the NYC Subways, Bankrupted San Diego and looms as the next financial crisis.

I am Legend-Richard Matheson

Why the hell did the films have to deviate from the original novel? All three times this book was made into a film they messed it up bad! The Will Smith one the most.

I'm always interested in knowing what people thought of that book. It was the very first book I have ever read where I liked the movie (and yes, the Will Smith one) more than the book. Maybe had I read the bok first...who knows.

I am Legend started the whole modern vampire and zombie genres. I guess the main two problems I had with the Will Smith take on it was 1. They pretty much took out that they where vampires and 2. By changing the ending they ruined the meaning of the book when he was the legend to the new race of vampires instead of the vampires being the legends to the human race.
