Dude, welcome from San Diego!

Skip the cigar box and do this:

---> 1 large Clean tupperware
---> one large 69% boveda pack from your local shop
---> cigars

Dunzo!

This will hold you over until you read through everything.

I have to echo what Sean said. Do this, and you'll start off great!

Welcome to the brotherhood! :waving:

Welcome to botl brother! a coolidor is just called that because it is a humidor made from a cooler. Same with a tupperdore. Which is what Sean rightly suggested. A Boveda pack is a little package that controls humidity and keeps your cigars stored without the drying out. Beetles eggs are on all cigars. They are naturally on the tobacco leaves. But they hatch and cause a problem when your humidity and temperature are over 70% and 70 degrees roughly. Storing them in a cigar box is okay for a few days but without proper storage they will get dry and crack and be a pain to smoke. Hope I answered some of your questions. Feel free to message me anytime if you have an questions. Oh! And welcome from a Botl that just moved from SoCal to Arizona!
Thanks for the started kit info, I'm gonna do that today but of coarse I'll have to buy a few more cigars now. :halfgrinw

Should I leave them in that plastic they come in or I can take them out once I store them in the tuperware?

Welcome!

Where in Socal are you from?
I'm in Whittier, just outside of LA.

Keeping them in the cellophane is totally up to you.
Yeah, this is a debate that has been marching on since the advent of cellophane. For what you are doing, I'd leave the cello on, but that is just me...

Wait, Whittier? This isn't Jesse Collazo, is it?

Thanks for the welcomes guys.

I took some of your guys advice and stole the wife's Tupperware (and yes I'm going to blame you guys when she asks about it) and am working on a tupperdor. Here's what I have so far, now I need to locate those bovedas things. All the shops around me only have the gels and they won't fit in my Tupperware. What you guys think?

I have some more newbie questions and figured I'd ask them here so I don't keep pissing off the veterans.

What hydrometer do you guys recommend and from where? Right now I'm looking at Atlantic Cigars site and Famous Smoke Shops site and tend to go towards the shinny ones. Just want your opinions on what better to get, I didn't ask before I bought Boveda packs and bought the wrong ones so looking for expert advise. Thanks
