so i decided to stop by a secondary b&m that i drop by a couple of times a year. they have a reasonably good selection, and are the only place close that sells viaje, plus a nice selection of illusiones.
i go in and ask the guy if he got in any daisy cutters......blank look....uh, skull and bones? oh yeah, somebody asked me about them last night. nope never seen em.
ok. do you know if you're getting in any nosotros?........blank look. asked second guy. another blank look. explained what they were..... just continued with the blank looks so figured i'd just leave and let them ponder for a bit.
geesh. if you work in a cigar store, wouldn't you think that ...ah forget it:angerFU:

Sounds EXACTLY like my old local B&M...just worthless.

Ha..sounds like one of the locals I visit once in awhile. I called up there about a month ago and asked them if they carried Palio cutters. He asks what kind of cutter? And I say, a cigar cutter made buy Palio. His response was, Uh...never heard of them.

Not shocked at all Bob. I know a retailer who happens to be one of the largest online shops in the world and I get the same thing. Gotten to a point that I now get asked for updates to what's going on when they should be waaaaayy ahead of me.

Too busy sellin the ordinary's to the regulars to really enjoy what wonderful blends are out there for the asking.

If is the store that i think it is, I was the guy that asked him about the skull and crossbones. I am just glad that I the have the viaje, even had some of the holiday stuff left.

I had a similar experience at a very well established b&m in Boston. I asked about the Nosotros, blank stare. I told then it was from the maker of Illuisione, another blank stare followed by "slow down, you mean Ahston? They make the Illusion as well." I then had to point to the 6 boxes of Illusione sitting in front of us and explain what I meant. Then I was assured they would get it even though they knew nothing about it.

I wish I could complain about a B&M in my area. We just do not have any up here. I have to drive an hour to Phoenix to visit one. They are very knowledgeable down there though. I visit a couple of them to get what I want.

I bought some Hemingway Maduros and told the guy I was supprised to see them. He told me all Fuentes taste like dirt and that these were the Gran Reserva.
