or cross eyes- that's my 5 year old son's diagnosis. When both eyes are used his left eye turns in (lazy eye). When you cover the left eye, the right eye turns in. Well he has been wearing a patch over his right eye since February for 4 to 12hours a day, everyday trying to get the left eye to retrain itself. Very limited improvements have been seen.

The fun of being a pirate wore off when he took the patch off for the first time, along with half of his eye brow.:cursing: That made him sound like a pirate.

He has worn it well over the time even played tee-ball and did better with the patch on then off.

Well- he is undergoing surgery at Duke on Thursday to repair the crosseyes. Keep him in your thoughts and prayers that all goes well. He's excited that the patch will be gone.

Thanks for keeping him/ us in your thoughts and prayers.

S Keep that patch and tell that story forever, will be a family legend of "the pirate".
They did pictures at daycare this Spring and they did not remove his patch as instructed for the pictures, so we havbe those and numerous others taken over the months. The best ones are without the patch, but with the untanned patch around his right eye.

Well off to the pre-op- Surgery in the morning @ 10.
