I can verify what he said, I was also able to get a 5ver from a shop in Destin Florida before the jars were released heck this was before most people ever knew they existed. I got a full jar when they were released and could not tell a difference between the them.

These are my cigars guys, and I think there is some misunderstanding.

These are from the the very first commercial release of the blacks. They were given to a very small group of retailers. These were purchased at Ambassador cigars in Scottsdale AZ in 12-07. My understanding, and according to Vitolas, there were 1000 rolled for Petes personal collection and (approx.) 250 cigars rolled for this commercial release as of the November publishing of the entry. I don't know how many more than that were actually rolled, but my assumption is not many at all. These cigars are exactly alike the ones Moki has on vitolas. Same presentation, same number (24) cigar in the bundle. Up until that point, the only time you got a black was from Pete's hand. My understanding was that the Jar release of 19000 (approx) were rolled in early 08, but I can't find anything to verify this. These were NOT cello'd. None of the OR Blacks were celloed. Neither was the Jar (at least MY jar). Perhaps the celloed one were the leftover blacks that had no Jar. My understanding is that these bundles came with 25 cigars. The first and only time I saw celloed black CG's was at IPCPR in Aug 08 when Kurtdesigns handed me one at the Wynn.

Nevertheless, they are from a completely different release - the first release. And frankly, I would bet they are the last cigars from this release out there (accept from Petes personal stash). I was lucky to score two of the four bundles that Varten had at the time, and the rest of my purchase are gone.

There was an extremely limited relase of the blacks in bundles prior to the jars, which were sent to a very few retailers to try out with their customers. I think it was about 20-25 bundles though.

These aren't Thermonuclears, which are near to impossible to get anymore! Especially since they were only made for the Hawaiians.. Oh Marvin....hehe. Now I would pay $125 for a 5r of those!
