GF does TaxAct and e-file, it has been very good to her, I still have mine done by a CPA, I'll pay to make sure mine is done right, when i moved to MN I ended up paying the gov about 4 grand and pissed me off .sooooooooooo
When I get my business up and going I will probably use a tax lawyer to prepare my returns. If you happen to have an accountant who is being "creative" in the process of returns, then the IRS can lean on them to provide individuals who have been heeding his advice. If you have a creative tax lawyer, then the IRS cannot violate the lawyer/client confidentiality clause thereby protecting you. I pay plenty of taxes, but I sure don't want to pay a penny more than I have to.
