Two smokes I really left an impression while not knowing what to expect going in - Warped La Hacienda and Illusione MC Slam. I have only tried a few from each brand but these definitely left a great impression.

El Gueguense - Expected quite a bit, and was still surprised.

LA Hacienda - This one still kinda surprises me every time I smoke one. Maybe not my absolute favorite smoke, but one I really crave more of every time I have one. There's just something unique in their profile that really suits me sometimes.

Two very recent ones that I really enjoyed were the My Father Talavera and the Quai D'Orsay Imperiales. Didn't think either would blow my mind, but I was wrong. Also, considering none of the Tat store exclusives knocked it out of the park this year, I was pleasantly surprised by the H-Town Lancero by Tatuaje. Also, I had an SLR Regios back in April that I still think about to this day.

The two cigars that surprised me most this year were the Leaf Lancero Sumatra and the Leaf Robusto Maduro. I didn't know what to think when I saw them, but I have been hooked ever since smoking them.

I tried quite a few cigars this year that I enjoyed. The 2015 Tat TAA and the 2015 Angel's Anvil that I expected to enjoy and did. The list below are cigars that I didn't know what to expect and enjoyed. Not all of them came out in 2015, but I tried them for the first time this year.

2015 Las Calaveras. Didn't expect to like it because I'm one of the few that didn't care for the 2014. My wife brought the 2015 back from a trip as a surprise and I loved them.
Las Mareas
Tennessee Waltz. Yes, I know, a pattern of CH cigars. Way to go @JonHuber
AJ New World. Really surprised by this and purchased a box from Famous during their Black Friday deals for cheap.
Holly Lance

I still have the El Gueguense and Sobremesa in my humidor to try.

Padron Damaso, Undercrown Shade, and the Montecristo White Vintage Connecticut were very surprisingly good. I don't typically smoke Connecticut Shade, but all three of these showed that a Connecticut Shade cigar can still have plenty of flavor and complexity.
L'Atelier Mission
AVO Syncro Nicaragua. Not your typical strong Nicaraguan cigar, but still had good flavor and smoothness to it.
LFD La Nox as I don't typically like longer cigars, but really enjoyed this one.
My Father El Centurion H2KCT as I wasn't a big fan of the El Centurion, but I was surprised about the unique flavor of this cigar.
El Gueguenese and Sobremesa was surprising for me as I expected it to be a lot like Liga, and it was a huge departure, but still very good. Sobremesa was one of my favorite cigars of the year.
Murcielago, because it doesn't taste like Erik's other recent releases, but I really liked it.

Well, gonna warn ya...I'm all over the place with my 2015 Rockin' My Boat list...in no particular order:
Illusion Fume de Amour...one of my very favorite sticks, but they ain't cheap
Foundry Chillin' Moose...very inexpensive, but always good to me.
Man o' War Ruination...I buy 'em on special, but they are great, regardless of price point
Fallen Angel Devil's Ink...I found out about these on a blog, discovered them on special, bought 50 or 60 of 'em. love 'em!
Camacho Connecticut...very smooth and satisfying
I'd like to try the El Gueguense and Sobremesa, but I like in SoCal...the B&M wasteland where it comes to new releases, especially from boutique makers...but I'll get to them soon. Same thing with the Ezra Zion referred to above. I went to the only cigar store referred to on their website, inquired after them, and was told 'nah...we don't have any. We did, but they were too expensive' 'Oh, yeah? If they were so expensive and not popular...how come you sold out?' Hmmm...

Might need to edit the title from "The Cigar that most plea......" to "The Cigars that most plea...."

It's hard to pick just one cigar that really surprised me. I've had so many this year that blew me away.
Here are a few cigars that I tried for the first time in 2015 which really stood out (in no particular order):
  • Padron 64 Torpedo
  • Casa Fuente CG

  • The Whore- Tat
  • Tenn Watlz
