It would be nice if some of the online retailers would ship to Canada, but sadly, we are in a "no-fly zone" due to the rediculous taxation that comes across at the border. You really do need to search out a good retailer online that will ship to us up here that is consistant, helpful and has good product.

I agree about it being stupid how hard it is to acquire cigars in Canada.

Americans think we have it good because we can get Cubans, but they don't realize that we're paying a 280% duty fee on everything. A box of cigars that costs $60 for Americans, costs $250 for Canadians.

Being able to get Cubans doesn't offset that enormous price hike.

Exactly. We can't afford those "precious" Cubans anyways, so there really is no point in having them here anyways. I don't know many americans that would pay $30 for a Monte #2 or $50 for a Cohiba Siglo V that is legal here if they lived here.
I go into a B&M and find a cigar like a Padron 2000 .... for me to buy that here was $20, any american can get that for $6-7, now that is fair and fine by me due to the fact that I know the store needs to make a bit of money, but the taxes kill any hope of smoking cigars....Cuban or not. I cannot afford to shop in the B&M's much anymore due to that fact, when I can get everything for less than half the price online delivered to me. I try to help out the stores when I have a few extra bucks, but lets be real, I can get a box of Oliva Serie V Belicoso for the price that I would pay for 5 of them in the stores. :sadcry:
The thing is, Cuban quality has deminished to the point in the last 3 years that I am enjoying everything else much more, plus I get a larger variety of smokes to choose from.
Thats my rant...thanks heh.
