So.. I attempted this TWICE last year.. and failed miserably both times..

tobacco seeds went into the greenhouse yesterday... hopefully in a couple of weeks we'll have some seedlings.. and by late April after the last frost passes.. we'll have some small plants to put in the ground...

We'll see if we ever get to the rolling part lol... first I've got to get plants to live past the first 60 days and actually make it into the ground :)

With only 2 types of tobacco available.. Im doubtful we'll end up with a decent (or even smokable) stick...

but.. I thought it would be cool to try to go through the entire process of growing, curing, fermenting, etc.. and then attempting to roll something.. and see how it all works out...

Makes one appreciate everything that goes into a quality cigar, and why they're so expensive for an agricultural product! :greedy:

Im in the exact same boat as you are! Im going to take a crackpot approach and see what I can get going this year. Im hoping to get 5-15 plants going on a whim and see what I can make from it. If we can make em work we will have to work out a dog rocket for dog rocket trade!!

first few sprouts have shown their faces...

Now I just have to see if I can keep them alive until the first week of May so that I can put them in the ground outside..

And any extra plants I have that survive until April.. get handed out at the HERF.... (I really only want 2 habano and criollo plants... but have planted 12x of each in hopes of having at least a few survive)...

so... by end of season.. we might have some NC soil plants too :)
