This is why you should have a dash cam.

I really dislike no fault states. In my eyes it's the same mentality of 'nobody wins or loses if everyone had fun.' It's treating adults like children and not holding them accountable.

As far as the camera I have, apparently the model I have has some pretty bad quality control, so while I got lucky a lot of people didn't.

The way the cameras work is that you have slots for one or two Micro SD cards. Most cameras record in 5-10 minute increments. The cameras generally have g sensors and when a threshold is met the camera will lock the file so it won't be overwritten.

also, check with your state...if you live in an area where they do not care who is at fault (an accident is an accident) then you wont need a dash cam.
I would think that even in these states it would be beneficial if there were injuries and the injured were claiming you may have been driving recklessly or maliciously. This could save you from personal liability in that case, I would think.

Here we have the no fault. And mandatory insurances. Road injuries are covered by state ran "automobile insurance society" so even when injured by unknown drivers you are covered.

It's like free healthcare. It's different, and it works.

Sorry to hear about the accident. The double turn lanes are bad. My town has gone round -about crazy and nobody knows how to use them. They recently put in a 2 lane one near my house that we navigate daily. Can't say how many near misses we have had there and countless accidents for others.

They're a great concept, if people would just learn how to use them! We have a few around here, including a two lane one, and it's mass chaos when going through it.

Agreed. But this one is at the intersection of 2 highways and one goes around into a one lane exit. Crosses from center lane to right lane mid circle and exit. Thats just stupid.

Yes it is. When I travel through Harrisburg there's a spot where a another highway dumps off ramp traffic into the left lane, meanwhile a major exit 3/4 mile on the right. Oh I forgot to mention before you hit any of this, the third lane on the right is feeding on ramp traffic.

The criss-crossing traffic is hilarious. The trick is simply to keep moving. Then you are predictable, and other drivers can manage what they need to.
It's the people that panic and stop short that causes impact. But I'm sure we still have the kind of clueless assclown Kooka ran into as well.

@multi-useless I'm mostly okay, it wasn't a high speed or major enough accident to lay me out, however, I was involved in a hit and run last year and if you've kept up with my threads you know I had to have surgery as a result of it. Well, I steer with that hand, and apparently it didn't like the sudden jolt.

I think I may get xrays on it tonight.

Glad to hear it wasn't any worse. Didn't know about the previous wreck but I hear ya - I had a pretty stupid minor injury a few years ago where xrays didn't show anything wrong but it still caused problems for a while. It all healed eventually but it was a real nuisance for a while...

Glad you are OK to post about it.

Like others have said, some morons will just never figure out the double left turn lane scenario.

Here they installed roundabouts. You're supposed to yield to people that are already inside. And there's only one direction. People have no clue and do everything but use it properly. You'd think it's simple, but no, whatever can go wrong will go wrong.

Sounds like all the ones around here. Sad to hear its not just Americans.
