Thoughts on the new RP 15th?

So I'm definitely not a regular RP fan. But I have to say his new 15th ann cigar is tempting me. It sounds right up my alley: "It's a medium dark, trunk-pressed cigar that's wrapped in Ecuadoran tobacco grown from Habano seeds. The binder and filler tobaccos are entirely Nicaraguan" http://www.cigaraficionado.com/Cigar/CA_Features/CA_Feature_Basic_Template/0,2344,3227,00.html

I know it's new but any more reviews or comments on it from you guys?

Also if you know of any killer deals on them, let me know.

Thanks...

I loved it!

I'm not the biggest RP fan, but then there is the winter blend and there is his 15th anniversary.

Definitely worth trying, even if you aren't a fan of his other cigars.

I'd give it a try also. But, since it is only available at B&Ms, I probably won't get the opportunity.

One thing I get annoyed about with RP's interviews are things like this

"I wanted a cigar that's like the Decade on steroids. The Fifteenth has the elegance and the balance of the Decade, but it has the richness, complexity and spice that kind of puts it over the top."

The 15th anniversary is not the decade on steroids. I remember hearing that the patel bros. will be the winter blend on steriods, which it was not. 15th anniversary is more medium bodied and tastes very little like the decade. However I did like it.

I've been smoking the RP Edge Corojo's since there release and I really enjoy them (the lancero and toro are my favorites!). I too enjoyed the Winter Blend. All that being said, I want to try the 15th also.

The Winter Blend is one of my all time fav's and with it being a RP, that shocks me. I am like most others here, not a fan of his work at all, however, this 15th Anni is AWESOME. I loved every inch of it and it will be a box I purchase very soon. The OWR Maddie is good too and I will occasionally smoke an Edge Maddie, but the rest of his work is not my thing.

I only sampled a few of his brand but I always thought Rocky had it going on? I didn't know he had so many distasteful cig's, as read by a few reviews. Cigar international pushes his sticks all the time?

I'm not an RP fan but was looking forward to trying this one. I didn't like it - tossed it about halfway in. The flavors taste 'dirty' to me, it definitely didn't fit my profile.

Many here just don't like RP's stuff and refuse to try anything by him. It goes back to the "smoke what YOU like" philosophy. I would love to try an experiment putting another manufactures label on an RP and see what kind of reviews it would get.

I'll give the 15th a try at the shop one day just to see how it is, whether I like it or not won't be affected by reviews or opinions.

most people with a mature palate could have a blind taste test and RP would be very easy to pick up on. RP cigars have a very predictable flavor profile. They are good quality cigars, but for me(and I'm sure a few people here) they are easy to get burnt out on. CI pushes a lot of volume and RP is the perfect guy with that.

I was given a 15th to try which I thought, well why not. I ended up buying a few different sizes right after. It's a great cigar, but what sold me on this is the fact that I smoked it with little expectations and it far exceeded it. Only other RP to do that was the winter blend.(from it's follow up from the autumn season......ugh)

not being a rp fan I also had low expectations...but wanting to smoke a large variety I tried this stick...I don't want to tell everyone this is the best stick out there because expectations might be to high, but regular rp smokers and non rp smokers should both reasonably like the stick...it does have the rp taste, but a little more too.

The decade is (or was at one time) a good stick...It is the only one of RP I will smoke, but I will try the 15th, if only to see what he is up to...

I'll definitely try it. I like some of Rocky's stuff: the Decade, OWR Maduro, Vintage '90, and the Edge Maduro. There's also some of his stuff I don't like... I had to put the Renaissance out after an inch into it because it tasted like bitter ash; I'm also not a huge fan of the Sun Grown.

The 15th is certainly generating some good buzz. I'll probably pick one up this Monday and give it a go.

I smoked a couple of these so far and I can say that the quality was spot on. The flavor profile was nice and it was a med-full in terms of body with lots of spice through the nose. I believe these will do well with some age on them.
