I smoked one Friday afternoon at my local B&M and was very impressed with it. Not like any other RP I smoked before. He could have a real winner with this cigar. Unfortunately at over $9.00 for the robusto I probably will only have one on special occasions.

Edge Lancero? Where the F have I been?
You've been in the First Class car on the "I Hate Rocky" Train, lol.

I'll admit that I still like many of Rocky's classic blends:
Edge Sumatra
Decade (with age)
OWR
Renaissance
Fusion (with age)
Vintage '92
Signature
Connecticut
Edge Lite
Edge

But I haven't had most of the newer stuff, and tend to shy away from many of the internet exclusives (though the Fusion, Signature, and Connecticut are great).

I want to try this new release of the Edge Sumatra, the 15th, and the Patel Bros, and probably the 1961. I know the Patel Bros uses PA Broadleaf, so that's probably 1st on my list to try. But I'm VERY curious if the new release of the Edge Sumatra is as good as the 1st one, because THAT was an awesome cigar.

The decade is (or was at one time) a good stick...It is the only one of RP I will smoke, but I will try the 15th, if only to see what he is up to...

Have you ever had the Edge Sumatra, Brooks? I have some from the 1st batch still, I can send you one if you like. They's mighty tasty! I hear the new ones are good too.

I was given one by the RP rep at a shop. Being very hesitant about RP in general, I waited. Taking advice from some trusted friends about "try something new to be sure", a couple days later I lit it.

I'll be honest, the first few puffs, it was good, spicy and flavorful. But 1/2 to 1" in, it went south. I got an acrid flavor. I gave it 3 or 4 more pulls to see for sure, but it was the same. The burn on mine was terrible, almost a 60 degree angle and I could not get it to correct. I pitched it, not for the burn, but the flavor was just not in my wheel house at all.

And BTW, I still very much enjoy the Rocky Winter's, so while I rag on Rocky in general, he's hit a couple for me in the past. Just not this one.
