i went to my GM today, telling him "i need a 4 day weekend for riot fest, and probably another 4 day weekend as well". didn't even blink, "you've put in the time, we will help you get it covered". god love when the people above you recognize what you've been doing. o)

Just saw this thread again. I didn't just have a kick ass day...had an awesome weekend. Friday at work, put together an awesome story that made me feel good about what I do. (this doesn't happen often enough.) Saturday was the kids birthday party, so a bunch of family was over for an awesome cookout. Sunday for Father's Day the family walked across the new pedestrian bridge over the Ohio River into Louisville and went out to eat. Monday came, and you would think that would be a downer, but this is my last week of work before vacation...so no downer here.

Thanks to todays storm and rain i got called off my second job and get some free time!
Today will be a great day, because it's a Blessing to have a job!
Many folks are still out of work, so nice to be employed as opposed to collecting unemployment like I did for a while...When we almost lost our home.
Although I can't say that I love my job, but I appreciate having one.

voice texts are a wonderful thing. still at work, but jojo is out with a dear friend and her kids, and she sent me two voice texts from the kids saying "hi uncle sean, we love you". kids. still smiling. o)

Technically it counts for yesterday, but I was away from my computer...
Good day because I attended a charity event for "Blessings in a Backpack," which I discovered is an amazing organization and the event raised a boat load of money for kids in need of food.
Also, after spending a year getting over my own personal hurdles... and six years of waiting for my time, I finally went out and made something wonderful happen.
Plus, I came home and stayed up until 4 AM with my roommate. Watched total bro movies, drank a lot of beers, and had a heated battle of throwing the unwanted candy from the sampler packs at each other. Certainly fun, but I'm glad he actually got to relax a bit. He's been a bit shook up since his grandfather passed a few days ago.
