Heat without nuanced complexity is the worst for me when it comes to bourbon. Luckily I haven’t had many that were like that, but there’s been a couple. My earliest memory was Eagle Rare Single Barrel Select and Elijah Craig Small Batch 12, but that was only my 2nd & 3rd bourbon and followed Woodford Reserve Distillers Select, so it wasn’t exactly a fair fight. I haven’t had it since so I’m happy to prove my old self wrong.
