I haven't Carlos, it's never really intrigued me.

Ass I said in the other thread, you got the 22-02 before I've even seen 22-01 in Chicago. I'm jonesin'.
Yeah, I kinda feel the same way. Sounded interesting, but in a "I'll try a pour if someone offered" way. For the same price, I bought a Booker's shirt and some KC Bourbon Balls instead. No regrets!

Funny thing...I finally got a chance to try Eagle Rare, and I did not like it at ALL! I strongly preferred BT and Taylor, the latter being the one that I chose to buy a bottle of. Also...BT bourbon balls are delicious.

Yeah, I'm not an ER fan either. Too sweet/syrupy for my palate. Colonel T s a solid BiB pour though, just getting tougher to find around here.

We got to the distillery right around opening time and there was a big line...it seemed like 75% of them were just hitting the gift shop to snag a bottle and leave (mostly Taylor and BT, ER wasn't for sale). I tell you what...that smell when we stepped into the rickhouse is something I'll not soon forget. Wish I could have bottled the air. Like the greeter at the door told us....welcome to Bourbon Disneyland. :ROFLMAO:

So cool Carlos!

I have a friend on a Booker's FB group I'm in asking if you got the Booker's 22-01 at the distillery. I told him I'd ask you.

Just did an informal experiment. Called 10 liquor stores within a 5 mile radius and asked each one if they had Booker's. My results:

  • 20% laughed
  • 80% didn't even have to check before responding
  • 20% sounded like they felt sorry for me for even asking
  • 0% had any in stock
Conclusion: If I want a bottle of Booker's, I need to book a *&$#@&! flight to Kentucky. :ROFLMAO:

@icehog3 - which Knob Creek(s) do you recommend I get next? I would get another of the 120proofer single barrels since they are one of the best bourbons ive ever tried...but I'm pretty sure they're gonna be hard to find. Think I've only seen two in the wild. My bottle is getting dangerously low. Gonna miss smelling that delicious caramel/vanilla cake goodness. One of the most delicious noses on any booze, ever.

Damn, Carlos, by me I see the bottle you posted above in grocery stores every day, let alone liquor stores. It must get more scarce as you go West?

Several stores around me have their 120 single barrel picks, I'm sorry to hear the stores by you aren't doing the same. Only bummer is the 14-15 year picks seem to be done (replaced by the small batch KC 15 Year, just not the same), but 9 year picks are still common here.

I guess the 100 proof bourbon would be the next best alternative, but for me it doesn't touch that flavor of the 120 SiBs.

Oh, EVERYTHING is scarce here and/or allocated.
