Today's Bourbon

Friend from Texas was in town for a long weekend of cigars, bourbon and Blackhawks games. Another friend joined us Saturday night and gifted me a Blanton's SFTB. Here were our pours that night.

I also acquired a bottle of Little Book Chapter 3. I had a bottle a couple years back and it was so disappointing when you know the ingredients ( 9 year old Knob Creek, 9 year old Basil Hayden's, 11 year old Booker's, and 12 year old Baker's. ) . It's so universally loved, I speculated that I got a bad bottle somehow. This should be my wheelhouse and I hated it. We'll see if I was right or if I just wasted some more cash.

One of my first times trying it, Jake, this bottle was pretty tasty, had that good WT funk.

Tried the old tub bonded last night. Very flavorful but not the flavors I’m into. Good enough with ginger ale

Just had a taste of Penelope the one finished in rose barrel. I liked it pretty well. Lq store asked me if I wanted a sample. Bought a bottle of Elijah Craig toasted. Didn’t need any more bourbon but appreciated the sample and thought it may be interesting to try again down the road

Cracked the Little Book Chapter 3. It's so different from the first bottle I owned, which was awful, straight black pepper. I don't know if "bad" or tainted bottles are a thing, but the difference is night and day.
