Very dark, full-bodied figurado. An intense blast of pepper at the start, followed by a very slight mellowing of the spiciness. It peaks right back up for the final inch, though, in a very intense finish.
Hints of espresso and dark chocolate poke their heads in and out throughout the cigar.
Retrohale adds a mild toastiness to the core of spicy earth.
Draw was a little too firm for my tastes, making it hard to produce a lot of smoke.
Also, the ash was kind of unsightly. It was solid black, looking like I had dipped the end of the cigar in tar. It was also quite flaky.
All in all, a very good stick. Not spectacular, but it made me curious to explore more of the world of Viaje.
