And it does get high ratings. I should get another two or three to try before deciding for sure I don't like them. Let one age a bit, have one with a drink, etc. It was certainly well-constructed - even burn, felt solid, nice draw, etc. The ash did fall off once it got about one inch in length, but I was walking around.I really enjoy the 5V Gold. I think I'm going to smoke one of my new Grand Pearl's tonight. The presentation is extremely well done!

Love The Duchess! Sweet and sour goodness!
I'm debating on loading up on some of these and other Vegas varieties to supply for a weeklong bachelor party camp out that I'm being out in charge of most of the sticks for. I've got a good idea for what to bring for the nicer stuff, but with twenty guys and many not being experienced (backwoods would work for some) I figure I will load up on a few boxes of these, some other decent but not great stuff and have it handled. My wife is at work, our babysitter has the kids out all day so I have the house to myself. It's 50 degree outside here in Chicago and cloudy, so I decided it was a good time to step onto the back porch and try one of the sticks I got in a recent sampler.
It's the 5 Vegas Gold:

Not to give a huge review but in a nutshell, it was fine. I prefer Maduro wrappers and, of course, this has a Connecticut wrapper, so it isn't a stick I would have intentionally bought. The first third was a bit harsh for my liking but the second third was really enjoyable. I probably won't go buy any more of these but I wouldn't refuse one if someone offered it.
But, frankly, that's all irrelevant; I had the rare chance to spend an hour enjoying a cigar outside on a "warm" December day in peace and quiet so, from that perspective, it was a great smoke. Life is good.
Both stellar choices! It's Fuente Friday for me so I've got an Anejo 46 and some Noah's Mill. Headed to NW FL for 4 days. The lows here in WA are in the 20s tomorrow. In NW FL the low will be 67!
