My second one of these. My first was a couple months ago, and it was still very young and harsh. They are starting to round out pretty nicely now.

so out of curiosity, is it significantly better than the standard my father? I love the normal one and am curious as to whether or not this is worth the steep price increase. looking for something special for my 30th next and was thinking maybe this, but i feel like padron 64's might be a better quality/price trade off.

To start the drive...

Then after crossing in to wisconsin...

And now the litto with some laphoaig triple wood...

Watching the game tonight then going to navy pier tomorrow. After that driving to the lake at a friend's house for the rest of the weekend where I'll be proposing!

Don't get me wrong, this is a great smoke. All the objective elements are there: perfect draw, smooth burn, and I can blow smoke rings for ten minutes on one draw. But, I have had tastier cigars. I really like it. Spicy, sweet, somewhat earthy. I just expected to be completely blown away by the Cigar of the Year.

La Mission L'Atelier 1989. What a good smoke. You are going to pay homage to Don Pepin for the first 1/2 to 3/4 inch. Lots of pepper. Then it smooths out to a full side of medium smoke. Slow burner.
